These purse´s are inspired by my 9 year old daughter Sarah, she is my treasure and I wanted to keep it just for my private library, so I chose María Izquierdo to represent this model: She was one the most important plastic artist from XX century. She was from Guadalajara, Jalisco, she married a man that was in the military at the early age of 14. At 19 she divorced him, and moved to México City, in this period it was so unusual for a woman to be divorced and in a profession such as plastic artist. In 1927 she met Rufino Tamayo a painter that made a positive influence in her work, who was also her sentimental partner for years. She made her first exhibition in 1929 with the support and help of Diego Rivera, the next year she took her work to New York and with that she was the first mexican woman to present her art in the United States.
Later she had an international project of her work featured in Tokyo, Bombay, Paris and several cities of South America.
